Again • Program Note
Again was commissioned by Jonathan Sheffer, music director of the EOS Chamber Orchestra in New York, to be part of a program of 10-minute operas featuring works by Barber, Menotti, Adamo and others. The libretto is by David Patrick Stearns, initially under the pseudonym of Kevin Gregory, who drew his inspiration from the four iconic characters in the beloved TV classic, I Love Lucy. The work was premiered in 2000 and revised a few years later.
