Baritone Joshua Hopkins and composer/pianist Jake Heggie perform Songs for Murdered Sisters in a new film by director James Niebuhr and Houston Grand Opera, streamed on Marquee TV. Margaret Atwood’s stunning new cycle of poems was inspired by the tragic murder of Hopkins’ sister in 2015. Compelled to use his voice to honor her memory and draw attention to the widespread issue of violence against women, Hopkins invited Jake to join him on a powerful journey toward awareness, healing, connection and transformation.
