World premiere of Full Circle Fifty for flute, cello and piano, composed for Carol Wincenc’s 50th Anniversary Celebration concert at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York; featuring flutist Carol Wincenc, cellist Brook Speltz, and pianist Jake Heggie. Program also includes Debussy’s Syrinx, Mozart’s Flute Quartet in C Major, and the world premiere of Pierre Jalbert’s Quintet for Flute and String Quartet with the acclaimed Escher String Quartet.

World Premiere of the new opera If I Were You (libretto by Gene Scheer), commissioned by the Merola Opera Program, at Herbst Theatre in the War Memorial Veterans Building, San Francisco. Conducted by Nicole Paiement and directed by Keturah Stickann Doucet. Cast will feature the exciting young artists of the Merola Opera Program’s Summer 2019 roster. Based on the Faustian story by Julien Green, If I Were You is the story of a lost young man who wishes he could be anyone else. A bargain with the devil gives him the power to move his soul and identity into another person, then another and another, as he strives to find a better identity and perhaps win the woman he has always loved from afar.
